Brandt Receives Three TEXO Distinguished Building Awards

UTSW Brain Institute and Cancer Center – Merit Award in Specialty Contractor – Mechanical 3

Brandt played a pivotal role in the success of the UT-Southwestern (UTSW) Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center and Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute. These state-of-the-art healthcare facilities, which concluded their construction journey on November 1st, 2022, were the result of more than three years of dedication.

Vaughn Construction enlisted Brandt’s expertise in June 2019 for mechanical and plumbing installations in two nine-story buildings, each spanning approximately 300,000 square feet. Our contributions extended beyond the buildings themselves, encompassing the utility tunnel, parking garage, and a new central utility plant (CUP). Rockwall County Detention Center – First Place in Specialty Contractor – Mechanical 2

Brandt demonstrated its expertise by partnering with Adolfson & Peterson (AP) in November 2019 to design-build the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations for Rockwall County Detention Center’s newest facility. The completion of this 83,000 square-foot facility in the fall of 2022 marked a significant milestone, as it now houses administrative offices, an expanded kitchen, a medical and mental health ward, and inmate housing units. Impressively, the addition of 204 beds effectively doubled its capacity.

A testament to our commitment to safety, Brandt achieved an exceptional record of 2 years and 3 months without a recordable incident, reflecting our dedication across 80,000 employee hours encompassing our electrical and mechanical teams. Learn more about this project.

UTA School of Nursing and Social Work – First Place in Specialty Contractor – Electrical 2

January 2023 marked the completion of The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) School of Nursing and Social Work. This revolutionary $76 million facility designed to advance healthcare education. Serving as a hub for nurturing the next generation of social workers and healthcare professionals, this cutting-edge facility spans four levels and 150,000 square feet. Its remarkable features include state-of-the-art learning spaces, research laboratories, a smart hospital simulation learning center, student engagement zones, study and support areas, and faculty and staff offices.
