The scope of work included installing 42 new sump pump packages within the ship’s existing blister tanks, along with controllers, piping, and discharge assemblies. These pumps are vital in removing water from the ship, preventing it from sinking. The blister tanks, multi-level confined spaces located in the lower sections of the vessel, facilitated compartmentalized water removal to safeguard against complete sinking.
Brandt’s responsibilities encompassed demolishing existing dewatering pumps and piping, installing stainless steel dewatering pumps, controls, floats, PVC headers, deck sleeves, and Unistrut conduit brackets.
