Brandt exercised agility with the owner and designer/general contractor by maximizing our use of BIM with FAB whenever possible. We find that complicated projects, particularly manufacturing facilities, have many details between routing, sizing, materials, and equipment connections that are difficult to coordinate in traditional 2D analog manners. BIM technology allows all parties to see final routings and connections. Model reviews, shop drawing reviews, and even fab spool drawing reviews are used to “measure three times, cut once.” While BIM technology and FAB does not solve all problems, it is another way to pre-plan our work to minimize re-work.

The project – which included two 2,000 liter filter dyers, Mokon Heat transfer skids, chilled water systems, and ductwork – was completed in 5 months
