In May of 2021, Cryoport Systems began expanding its operations in Houston, Texas. With the business growing exponentially, the company needed additional space to help with its temperature-controlled global supply chain solutions for the life sciences market.
Over four months, Brandt performed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations in the 21,000-square-foot facility. Approaching the project with a holistic approach enabled our crews to work toward their goal of achieving the highest-quality installations.
Brandt installed the rooftop units, split systems, VRF systems, associated piping, and HVAC ductwork. Our mechanical team had the opportunity to demonstrate Brandt’s efficient, top-notch installation methods within a narrow time frame.
During the construction phase, our electrical team provided temporary power and lighting to the building to enable all trades to work more efficiently. Furthermore, our high-focus electrical scope included:
- 625 KVA Diesel Generator with a NEMA 3R sound attenuation enclosure and transfer switch
- Complete power distribution and branch circuiting system
- Complete lighting package with controls and inverter
- All emergency and exit lighting
Our specialized plumbing team provided comprehensive new-build plumbing, including connections and pipe runs for all sanitary, domestic water, and condensate lines. Installations included:
- Restroom fixtures
- Service sinks
- Scullery sink
- Breakroom sink
- Mop sink
- Hose stations
- Emergency eyewash and shower
- Water heaters
