Brandt Construction Helps Revitalize the Historic St. Anthony Hotel
This July, Clyde Johnson (founder and chief investment officer at the St. Anthony Hotel), wrote us a letter of recommendation. He said: “They were always on top of their trade, safety schedule and pricing. They performed on the job with outstanding professionalism … I would highly recommend Brandt Mechanical and Engineering for any job.” Of the same job, Chad Cadieux, project manager for Zachry Construction, wrote that Brandt’s “attention to detail and safety made a very challenging project a success.”
The St. Anthony Hotel
The St. Anthony Hotel was built in four phases of construction from the 1910s through the 1940s. The changes in technology between phases, combined with age and historically significant architecture that we could not alter, created a one-of-a-kind project setting. Our new, modern HVAC system came to life through a mix of innovative design, robust personnel management, flexible on-site scheduling, and our powerful in-house commissioning processes.
We took particular pride in the revitalization of the St. Anthony Hotel, acting as design-build specialists for the HVAC systems. Between plumbing, piping, sheet metal and commissioning, Brandt invested 135,412 total man-hours in the St. Anthony Hotel.
This project encompassed a phased implementation schedule in which the site was never completely shut down. The hotel’s ballroom schedule required continual organization and planning. And the building itself—its history and usage—created a unique set of circumstances.
To effectively manage all the moving parts implemented during the St. Anthony Hotel project, costs were tracked at every design phase. Oversight and clear communication between the construction and design teams helped keep us on track and under budget. Cooperation and adaptive management practices between the construction team and Brandt’s in-house engineers were vital to the creation of workable solutions.
At Brandt, we pride ourselves on attention to detail and lasting business relationships. To learn more about our quality design build solutions, visit us on our website or check us out on Facebook and Twitter.
